Game Preview

For the second of four straight games, divisional rivals will square off, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Wheeling Nailers during the 29th Annual “World Famous” St. Patrick’s Day Green Ice Game, presented by Fifth-Third Bank and WWMT.  On the season, Kalamazoo is 3-2-0-0 versus Wheeling.

Returning to the Wings Stadium for the first time since February 28th, the K-Wings are looking to extend a 13-game home unbeaten streak (12-0-0-1) and in the process move into first place in the North Division. Kalamazoo enters the contest one point behind idle Cincinnati for the division’s top spot.

Snapping a two-game winning streak with a 4-1 setback to Kalamazoo on Sunday, Wheeling is looking to rebound and in the process improve their playoff hopes. With eight games remaining, the Nailers are in 10th place in the American Conference and trail the Reading Royals by two points for the final playoff spot.
