Game Preview

Preparing for back-to-back games between one another, the Kalamazoo Wings will face-off against the Charlotte Checkers. Kalamazoo leads the season series over Charlotte with a record of 3-0-0-1, which includes winning both previous encounters at Wings Stadium.     

Playing the third-leg of a four-game home stand, the K-Wings are riding an 11-game home unbeaten streak (10-0-0-1). With 65 points, Kalamazoo holds a three-point lead over the Toledo Walleye for second place in the North Division and is tied with the Florida Everblades for fifth place in the American Conference.  

Hitting the ice for the third of a four-game road swing, Charlotte has won both games thus far on the trip. With 66 points, the Checkers lead the Everblades by a single point for second place in the South Division and are a point ahead of the ‘Blades and the K-Wings for the fourth seed in the conference.

Last night defenseman Louis Liotti reached a personal milestone. Liotti’s power-play goal in the first period was the first goal in his pro career.

Defeating Gwinnett last night 4-3, Kalamazoo enters tonight looking to extend a 11-game (10-0-0-1) unbeaten streak in regulation at Wings Stadium. The 11-game home unbeaten streak is a season-high for Kalamazoo.
