Game Preview

For the first-time in over a month, the Kalamazoo Wings will battle the Port Huron Icehawks. On the season, the K-Wings are 5-4-2-0 versus the Icehawks and have won two in a row. Including tonight, Kalamazoo will lace up their skates against Port Huron four more times.

While Kalamazoo trails the Icehawks by only four points for second place in the league, the K-Wings have their immediate sights on third. The K-Wings, who trail Flint by a single point for third place in the league, can leap frog from them tonight with a victory coupled with a Generals loss against Fort Wayne.

Winners of three in a row, the Icehawks are peaking at the right time. Port Huron’s current win streak has given them a three-point lead over Flint and a four-point cushion over Kalamazoo and Muskegon for home-ice advantage in round one of the playoffs.

Roster Moves

Kalamazoo made two separate transactions today. Defenseman John Miller has been activated from the team’s non-roster, while Brian White has been called-up to the Worcester Sharks of the AHL.

Getting Off to a Good Start

Answering the bell from the opening face-off has not been a problem for the K-Wings. With 71 goals, Kalamazoo’s most prolific scoring period is the first.

Detulleo Nears Milestone

Forward Glenn Detulleo is closing in on a personal milestone. Detulleo needs one more lamp lighter to reach the 100-goal plateau in his career.

Snapping a Streak

Kalamazoo enters McMorran Place Arena looking to snap a three-game road winless streak. The K-Wings are 0-2-0-1 during the current streak.
