Game Preview

In a possible first round match-up in the upcoming Turner Cup Playoffs, the Kalamazoo Wings will battle the Fort Wayne Komets. Tonight is the final regular season encounter between the arch-rivals. On the season, Kalamazoo is 3-9-0-2 against Fort Wayne.

Winless in five straight games on the road, Kalamazoo is 0-4-0-1 during the current streak, which includes a 3-2 shootout loss two weeks ago at Memorial Coliseum. The K-Wings enter the game two points behind the Muskegon Fury for fourth place and trail the Flint Generals by three points for third.

Fort Wayne hits the ice chasing history. The Komets have won 22 straight at home, which ties the IHL record set during the 1965-66 season by the Muskegon Mohawks. Ironically, the last team to defeat Fort Wayne at Memorial Coliseum was Kalamazoo back on December 21st, when the K-Wings won 6-4.
