Game Preview

For the last time in the regular season, the Kalamazoo Wings will host the Bloomington PrairieThunder at Wings Stadium. After tonight, the two teams will meet twice more, both in Bloomington. On the season, Kalamazoo is 7-4-0-1 versus Bloomington and are 5-1-0-1 at Wings Stadium.

 

Losing two in a row on the road, the K-Wings return to Wings Stadium looking to continue their recent home cooking. Kalamazoo is on a season-high five-game home winning streak. With three weeks left in the regular season, the K-Wings are two points behind the Muskegon Fury for fourth place in the IHL.

 

Coming into the night eight points out of the playoffs, Bloomington starts a crucial portion of their schedule. Tonight will start a three-game road swing for the Thunder, who are 11-17-1-2 away from the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Adding to the Blue Line

Kalamazoo has signed defenseman Trevor Koverko. A former 2005 NHL draft pick of the New York Rangers, Koverko, who still has amateur status, began the season in the Ontario Hockey League with the London Knights and making his pro debut on his 21st birthday.

 

Roster Moves

The K-Wings have activated forward Ryan Kindret from the 7-Day IR. In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have placed Glenn Detulleo on the 7-Day IR.

 

Earning Points

Kalamazoo has found ways to earn points at home. So far this season, the K-Wings are 6-3-2-3 in one goal games at Wings Stadium.
