Bloomington, IL – Scoring first and finding answers for both the K-Wings goals, the Bloomington PrairieThunder defeated Kalamazoo 3-2 Sunday afternoon at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Leo Thomas (11th) gave Bloomington a 1-0 lead connecting on a rebound 8:05 into the first period.
Just over two minutes later, forward Lucas Drake (11th) continued his recent assault on the IHL, upping his point streak to six games, scoring on a one-timer from the right circle.
The Thunder regained the lead late in the period on a blast from the high slot from Jon Booras (24th). The tally tied Booras for the team lead in goals with Don Parsons, who assisted on the go ahead goal. The assist was Parson’s 600th in his career.
Crashing the net, Nick Bootland (35th) extended his current goal streak to three games netting the equalizer 4:01 in the second period.
Two minutes after watching their lead get erased, Parsons pushed Bloomington back in front for good netting his team-leading 25th goal of the season.
