Game Preview

Today is the 276th installment of the longest active rivalry in the IHL between the Kalamazoo Wings and Fort Wayne Komets. With a record of 2-8-0-1, Kalamazoo has struggled against their arch-rivals this season, overall in their IHL history; the K-Wings are 121-122-31-1 against the Komets.

A loss last night to Muskegon dropped Kalamazoo three points behind the Fury for fourth place in the IHL. With Muskegon idle, Kalamazoo can once again move to within a single point of the final playoff spot with the victory over Fort Wayne.

Losing three of their last four games has hurt Fort Wayne. The Komets start the day with a 16 point lead over the Flint Generals for first place in the league. Today is also the final game of a five-game road swing for the Komets, who are 1-2-1-0 during the current trip.
