Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce the signing of defenseman Brian White.

A 10-year pro, White was a 11th round (268 overall selection) draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.

Although White spent a majority of his rookie campaign with the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, he did see time in the National Hockey League with the Colorado Avalanche.

“We (K-Wings) have been looking for a player to help anchor our blue-line,” said General Manager Wade Welsh. “Everyone in every league is searching for quality defensemen and to sign someone the caliber of Brian is definitely an added boost to our playoff push.”

A four-year standout at the University of Maine, White has spent part of seven seasons in the AHL, including last season when he made a playoff push with the Providence Bruins.

White is expected to make his K-Wings debut this Saturday, February 16th on the road versus the Port Huron Icehawks.

In a separate transaction, Kalamazoo has sent forward Brent Needham and defenseman Nathan Oke back to the Richmond Renegades of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

For the second straight week, the K-Wings will play three games in three nights starting with a rare Thursday contest on February 14th with a 7 p.m. face-off versus the Flint Generals during the 8th Annual Borgess Health Pink Ice Game presented by WKFR and The CW 7. Kalamazoo is 4-3-0-0 against Flint this season. Of the seven games between the teams, all but one has been decided by a single goal. Flint enters the week tied for second place with Port Huron. The Generals should be well rested, as February 14th will be their first game in a span of 13 days.

Single game tickets for the entire K-Wings 2007-08 home schedule are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office. Tickets range from $9-$14. Prices for K-Wings games will increase $1 for premium game nights (Pink Ice and Green Ice).  Fans are also encouraged to purchase their game tickets in advance, as they will save $1 per ticket by getting their seats prior to a game day.

Ticket Office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, call the Wings Stadium Ticket Office during regular business hours at (269) 345-5101.
