Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce forward Kory Karlander has been selected the league’s National City Forward of the Week for the period ending January 27th.
Karlander follows Glenn Detulleo (December 23rd) as the only other K-Wings forward to earn the league’s weekly award. This is the second league honor for Karlander, who was the National City Forward of the Month for December.
Last week, Karlander continued his scoring dominance racking up six points (4 goals, 2 assists) in three games. The native of Melita, Manitoba is currently on a six-game point streak and three-game goal streak.
Currently the leading scorer in the IHL with 57 points (24 goals, 33 assists), Karlander amassed points in 19 of his last 20 games.
After two days off, Kalamazoo will close out the month at home this Wednesday, January 30th with a 7 p.m. face-off versus the Muskegon Fury on Ché Bar Construction Night.
