Game
Preview
For the third-time in the last 17 days, the Kalamazoo Wings will lace up their skates to battle the Port Huron IceHawks. Kalamazoo is 3-2-2-0 against Port Huron this season; however, the Icehawks have defeated the K-Wings in the team’s last four encounters, including three straight at Wings Stadium,
Winning with one-tenth of a second last Sunday against Muskegon, Kalamazoo ended a seven-game losing streak and has climbed back to within two points of the Fury for fourth place in the IHL. With three games in hand, the K-Wings are also closing in on third place, as they trial the Icehawks by just three points.
So far this season Port Huron has been a better team on the road than at home. Commencing a three-game road swing tonight, the Icehawks are 13-10-0-0 away from McMorran Place. Ironically, Port Huron has dropped three straight on the road with the last win occurring January 9th at Wings Stadium.

Revamping the Roster
The K-Wings have made two rosters moves this week by adding both goaltender Jeff Reynaert and forward Brett Needham. Reynaert, who will not see action tonight, is now in his third tour of duty with the K-Wings, while Needham is a two-year pro that started the season in the SPHL with the Richmond Renegades.
Leaving His “Mark”
In just three games with Kalamazoo, forward Ryan Markham has made his presence felt. Markham scored two times over the weekend, including a game-winner with one-tenth of a second remaining in Kalamazoo’s 4-3 win over Muskegon on Sunday.
Leader of the Pack
Forward Kory Karlander leads in the IHL in scoring with 51 points (20 goals, 31 assists). Karlander’s rise to the top has a lot to do with his recent scoring tear, in which he has registered at least one point in 16 of the K-Wings last 17 games (11 goals, 19 assists).
Get Shorty
Scoring shorthanded goals in back-to-back games, the K-Wings have now lit the lamp seven times this season while killing penalties. The seven shorthanded goals places in the K-Wings tied for second in the IHL with the Port Huron Icehawks and one behind the Fort Wayne Komets for the league lead.
