Not OK to embarase Team and other fans..

Postby pointer » Tue Mar 13, 2012 8:56 am

I was amazed that a group of K-wing fans would lower their image this past weekend with the signs they held near the opposing goalie net. The innuendos and slogans were certainly uncalled for, NOT "family friendly", and in VERY poor taste. I would hope that the K-wing community would want to be PROUD of our Fan base, not embarrassed by their tasteless signs. ***Signs are a fun thing to hold up - but in taste please. ****

i would rather have a arena full of people with signs that are really into it than a bunch of people that complain about "non family friendly"..... people were complaining about others yelling at the national anthem........ITS HOCKEY!!!!! people have yelled and been rude at sports since the beggining of them, get used to it your children are going to be exposed to it eventually. id rather explain to them that its a bunch of people having fun and being goofy......and i saw the signs... it was true and funnny  so ima say get over it..... this is going to be a nice rivalry and it will draw fans to the stands.

What did they say? I saw one about Lutz charging a goalie...he did that.

I saw one pointing out the goon teams that their head coach has coached and the players who played on them.....true.

What ones did I miss?

You must have been so offended by the signs that you didn't see Chicago's Chaz Johnson #98 come out onto the ice with his stick jutting out from between his thighs acting as if it was a phallic symbol to the crowd. Nor did you apprently see him telling the lady "F*&K YOU" over & over. That lady I believe is a season ticket holder & she had the referee signs and she also brought a sign referencing the Chicago coaches tendency to promote dirty play both on Chicago and his past Rockford teams. I personally found nothing offensive about the signs nor was I offended by #98's actions...did I find them appropriate, no but he's in the entertainment business apparently so he felt he had to draw attention to himself. I hope they continue to allow the signs as long as they do not have profanities or dirty pictures on them.

Are you kidding me???? What was so offensive about the signs? I saw them too, read them and thought they were funny. What was so Non family freindly about them? You really need to stop being so uptight and get over it, and to the season ticket holder that made the signs, please continue to hold them up at each game. Oh, and by the way Pointer we have one more home game against Chicago on Friday March 23rd, you may want to stay home for that one, lock your doors and close your curtains...we would not want you to get upset...

The only thing I disagree with...Chaz Johnson may want to be an entertainer. That is fine, but he is also supposed to be a PROFESSIONAL. Those kind of actions would not fly on a team with a professional as a coach.

I'm with topshelf I thought the signs were funny to. And to the person that makes them and holds them up keep you're creativity flowing I support it. To people offended by a sign really get over it.......or watch curling I don't think they hold up signs there that might be a little more family oriented

yeah the sign pointer is referring to is "hey lutz stop trying to mount our goalie he is not a pony"......ok well for you pointer, a wise man once said its not the saying thats bad its the moron whom interprets it that way that makes it bad..(ty george carlin)..for your information you have to mount a pony to ride it so it is family friendly to a child :D but its also funny to us adults.....i know who made the sign and we will not stop making them as long as they are true and security sais haha go ahead..

HaHa looked like a bunch of people were holding up signs! More power to them. I agree with all the later posts! Chicago has turned out to be the best K-Wing rivalry in the ECHL. Looked as though from where I was seated the majority of the Chicago Players were enjoying the actions of those with the signs, most likely reminded them of their past Collegiate years.
Love Pointers comments about being "family friendly, tasteful" Like Hockey has any of that! Let's see grown men fighting on the Ice. Fans yelling "you $uck", beer being consumed all around you!
I guess I shouldn't bring my sisters kids to the games anymore. Heck probley shouldn't even allow them to watch cartoons anymore either, let alone go to a PG rated movie.
