BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed forward Brandon Svendsen to a professional try-out contract.
Svendsen, 26, spent the majority of the 2010-11 season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers where he tallied 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) and 41 penalty minutes in 61 games played. He also appeared in 10 games with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL where he matched his point total with the Sound Tigers, recording seven goals and nine assists for 16 points.
The 5-10, 184-pound left wing played 71 games as a Binghamton Senator during the 2009-10 season, recording seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points.
Prior to turning pro, the Rosewood, Minn. native spent four seasons (2005-09) with Bowling Green State University. In 148 career games with the Falcons, Svendsen compiled 76 points (32 goals, 44 assists) and 106 penalty minutes.
Also today, the Binghamton Senators announced that they have reassigned forward forward Jack Downing to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.
Downing, 22, has appeared in 14 games for the B-Sens this season, recording one point (an assist). He has recorded eight points (four goals, four assists) in 11 games with the Jackals.
