Kalamazoo Wings get two from New Jersey Devils
Kalamazoo Gazette

The Kalamazoo Wings' new affiliation deal with the NHL's New Jersey Devil has already made an impact on personnel.

The Devils have reassigned goalkeeper Maxime Clermont to the Wings while Brian Haczyk joined Kalamazoo on loan by American Hockey League affiliate the Albany Devils.

Neither were in the lineup for Friday's K-Wings preseason game against the Toledo Walleye.

Clermont spent the last four years in the Qubec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Gatineau Olympiques. Last season, the 19-year-old made 48 starts and posted four shutouts.

Clermont was a sixth-round draft pick by the Devils in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Haczyk played four years at Niagara University after spending two seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL.

The native of Nutley, N.J. was a teammate at Niagara University with current K-Wings defenseman Derek Foam.

Last season, as a senior, he posted 45 points (28 goals, 17 assists). Haczyk suited up for the Trenton Devils in three games last season, notching one assist.

:( :( :( :( I was all set to watch Ryan play here. All my friends from South Carolina were very upset when he signed here and not there. All of them said he is a hard worker, very dedicated both off and on the ice. Good Luck Ryan.

Transfer Aaron Clarke (F) Kalamazoo Wings to Belfast Giants http://www.belfastgiants.com/archives/leblanc-out-echl-all-star-clarke-in/

LeBlanc Out, ECHL All-Star Clarke In
Former ECHL All-Star, Aaron Clarke, will be joining the team as soon as his visa application is completed.

Aaron Clarke was one of Doug Christiansen’s targets this summer and he kept in touch with him during the season. Clarke has been a captain of multiple ECHL teams and is a player Christiansen believes will make an impact. Clarke has also played for 3 different AHL teams.

“When I learned that Leblanc might be leaving, I knew who I wanted. Aaron Clarke and I spoke during the summer and we came very close to a deal. Clarke is a hard-nosed skill player who can play in any situation. He is a very fast player who can score. Last season, Clarke showed his toughness by playing with a broken foot for the entire play-offs. He is a confident competitor. He has not been playing this season so it will take him time to get in game shape but I am confident he will be a point-a-game player who can play in every situation.”

Arron Clarke’s career statistics on EliteProspects.com

Clarke will be wearing number 8 for the Giants. Clarke is excited to join the first place Giants and stated, “I am very pleased and excited about having the opportunity to play in Belfast; where winning is a tradition and a championship is expected. I look forward to contributing and being part of a winning team. My great grandparents were from Belfast so it will be nice to see where a part of my family heritage comes from.”

The Giants hope to have Clarke in the line-up against Nottingham next weekend at the National Ice Center.

Hey, I'm a Belfast Giants fan and just wondered if you could give me an idea what to expect from our new signing Aaron Clarke!

Is he any good? fast? strong?

What did you guys think of him etc?

I for one am very very unhappy that he is not wearing a K Wings jersey this season. :( He is a hard working grinder of a forward. He will be missed here.
