My real thoughts on this is just another push to get the downtown arena in place, by taking away the parking increase shout, which previously we did not have to bear but now we do, so another plus for the rich gang downtown.

The rich who want to get richer on our hard earned bucks.

Which you are free to spend or not spend as you see fit. YOUR CHOICE.... Wanna park free, become a STH. simple as figuring a goals against average. maybe you and kwingsrock can carpool or "timeshare" a single season ticket!! Buy or dont, either way its your choice, not something you are entitled too.
Lol, what was it last season Ike, 4 games you actually went too? parking was free then, what stopped you from going to all the home games? Buy or dont.

I've been a STH for may years. I'll bet the parking fee will be included in the price of our STH tickets. What you wanna bet it won't be.

Everyone is talking like next year the free parking will continue for the STH. I'm not so sure it will be. They didn't do it this year because it was already included in the STH package and to change it would have caused a legal/costly problem. We will have to wait and see next year if it is still included.

Included or not, doesnt matter. STILL your choice. Buy or dont. Im just wondering... IF you are a season ticket holder and park free, just what are you whining about Ike? Spare me the morality. Or should I say, the self interest tightly wrapped in a moral blanket, to make it appear as your deep interest in "whats best" for the Orgs future? Ill choose the later, much better fit. Its hockey, save your "moral mission" for the voting booth, and Sunday mornings. You can express your fear of change and yearnings for days past much better there.

It is amazing how many people complain about everything that the K-wing's ownership does good or bad. Y don't you complainers talk to Paul Pickard himself to see y they are charging to park or become a STH so you don't have to pay for parking. If you are a true K-wings fan you would support them and the organization not put them down and push them away. I think it is sad that the team makes it to the finels in the play offs and only have about 2500 fans. I did not see the organization on here saying if we don't have more fans we will not come out of the locker room. They play for a full house or two fans. Stop complaining and support them they support you. We would have people on here complaining if it was free. I bet the free tailgate party before the first home game put on by the K-wings orginization won't have 2500 fan their supporting the orginization and it is FREE.

kwingsfan - we are not talking about the hockey team on this post. We are discussing why the owners decided to charge $5 per car to park. I know the players would play to 2 or 200, or 2,000 fans. And I would be one of the fans in the seats.

It just would have been a huge publisity stunt to keep the parking free and say they will NEVER charge for parking at Wings.

Saw a yard sign for the motorcycle swap meet. Are they charging for parking for that? How many people won't support the local guy selling parts because of that charge? I don't know. How many craft people won't go to Christmas at wings because of the parking cost? I don't know. Even if there is 1 person, that is too many.

Winging it. I'm saying that he Org isn't thinking with their caps on straight. Charging for parking after all these years with free parking will NOT put more butts in the seats. We need more fans, charging for parking in these tight times isn't the way to do it. Do you understand what I'm yakking about now?

Overlooked in all of this is how hard this is going to effect other events at Wings. The biggest impact will likely be the High School hockey league (unless they opt to move league games to Wings West). Last season quite a few HS league game nights overlapped with K-Wings games. The league has had its own problems with getting butts in seats and telling kids they have to cough up another $5 for parking will basically double the cost of watching their school's game on many evenings unless they carpool.

3G4 I am not talking about the team either. I am saying the orginization is not holding the team in the locker room. So to all the unhappy people are you telling me if the orginization payed $5 to everyone that came to the game in a car we would have a full house or more fans every night? Don't think so. I have been going to games in Kalamazoo for years just like the rest of you and look back over the years when the parking was free and I say free and the ticket price was $10 or less the fans did not pack the house then and they will not pack the house now. I have to say if you are a true K-wings fan you will be in the seats and if you choose not to be and don't go to the games you will only hurt the team and yourself not the ownership they will only move on. The true fact is that everything (gas, smokes, food, cars and yes parking and ticket prices) in the good old USA will continue to go up year after year and I bet next year they will go up some more. I am sorry to be the bear of bad news and welcome to the good old USA. Just be happy we have hockey in our back yards and enjoy.
