Colbert was assigned to the K-Wings by the American Hockey League's Worcester Sharks on 10/15/09. Well decorated as a collegiate player as St. Francis Xavier University, Colbert is entering his first year of professional hockey. Colbert was captain of the X-men his junior and senior year and an assistant during his sophomore campaign. The native of Amprior, Ontario was his team's co-MVP last season and MVP in 2007-08.

Originally selected by the Ottawa Senators in the 7th round (228th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Colbert remained with his junior team, the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League. In 2005, Colbert was selected by the San Jose Sharks in the 6th round (183rd overall).
